The 20-year-old started Saturday’s game against Villarreal before being taken off the field in the 79th minute due to injury. The Bat team later confirmed that Nico had broken a bone in his foot. That the club was preparing to undergo surgery. And would be out for at least three months to rehabilitate. 

‘Nico needs surgery will have surgery on Tuesday or Wednesday in Barcelona.’ Gattuso revealed. ‘He is sure to be out for three months with the injury he has. We have to look for players with the same profile as Nego because in this position we only have [Hugo] Guiyamon.’
