Argentina midfielder Franco Mastantuono has been given advice by Julian Alvarez on his future career choices.

Atletico Madrid and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez has advised youngster Franco Mastantuono to choose his new club with his heart after the 17-year-old River Plate star reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Madrid on a six-year deal.
Mastantuono made his debut for Argentina as a substitute for Thiago Almada in the 84th minute of a 1-0 win over Chile in a 2026 World Cup qualifier on Thursday, becoming the youngest player in history to make his debut for the Albiceleste at the age of 17 years and 296 days, breaking the record previously held by Adolfo Heisinger.

‘At his age, he’s done incredible things. He has impressive qualities. He’s a star. I wish him luck and to continue growing. It depends on what he decides to do. I don’t know what will happen,’ Alvarez said.
The 25-year-old Atletico Madrid striker also advised the youngster to choose with his heart and make sure he moves to a club where he can continue to grow. ‘Let him choose with his heart, do what he thinks is best for him and continue to grow.’
